Honey Butter is easy to make and adds a lot of flavor to dinner rolls. If you have a sweet tooth this will help calm the cravings. When we get together for family dinner we enjoy having dinner rolls for holiday meals and the like. It creates a comforting flavor when paired with the Fast Rising Rolls we prefer.

Notes
Making Adjustments
This is a recipe where there are only a few ways you can adjust it. You can add a little more or less honey. You can increase or decrease the amount of butter. The end result will be very similar. The main difference will be which of the two flavors will stand out the most. To add a twist you can add cinnamon and/or nutmeg. Additionally, you could add a little vanilla or maple syrup.
Substituting brown sugar for the honey. It would be 1 cup of brown sugar for each 1/2 cup of honey.
The egg yolk as stated in the recipe is optional. It serves as a binding agent for the butter and the honey. With that said, I prefer to add the egg yolk. With egg yolk added to the mixture it needs to be kept in the refrigerator. Chilling the mixture make it much firmer. Leave it out for a short while before serving. The mixture without the can be left at room temperature for a longer period of time.
Honey Buttery Your Way
Its time to figure out when and how you would make adjustments. Would the basic recipe be best? What optional flavors would go best with a meal you are considering? The end goal as always is to be able to say, “I Flavored It My Way!”
