Flavor It Your Way
I am looking forward to taking this journey with you in learning to Flavor to Your Taste. As we begin the process keep in mind there is not just one way to flavor food. Some like it mild, some like it hot, some like it sweet other prefer a bit more tart. This blog is to help you find your taste and adjust recipes to provide the taste you prefer.
Their Way to Your Way
When I first started my adventure in taste, I found myself doing what others said was the way to flavor foods, baked good, etc. I would experiment a little bit but still felt almost compelled to follow the recipe. The things I initially learned to cook to taste I continued to cook that way, but new things were tougher to break out on my own. As time passed, I gained a little more confidence and began to try things. As I said in the About Chef Tamra page, after I went to school it gave me the confidence to experiment more.
Customizing Flavors
Flavoring it your way not only applies to the culinary side of cooking. It applies to baking, spicing, spice blends, specialty foods, dietary needs, and you could say to any style of cooking. Sometimes it can be as simple as removing a flavor you don’t like or adding one or more that you prefer. It may not be adding an additional flavor but adding more of a flavor you like or reducing the amount of one that is not one you want to taste so strongly.
Trial and Error Process
I would like to make it clear that not all of my experiments have produced a product more to my taste. There have been times I have had to go back and review the changes I made and adjust them. It is important to realize that not everyone will work out, and failure is part of the process. Mistakes or failure is part of the process of learning to Flavor It Your Way!
